Starting from Axis Studio v2.12, OSC broadcasting is supported, allowing you to stream mocap data directly to VRChat. This guide walks you through the setup step by step.
What is VRChat?
VRChat is a VR platform that allows you to interact in virtual environments.

Sensors Used for VRChat OSC Streaming
For real-time streaming to VRChat, only 10 sensors are needed:
- Spine1
- Hip
- Left & Right Upper Arm
- Left & Right Forearm
- Left & Right Upper Leg
- Left & Right Leg
This configuration provides the necessary tracking points for VRChat’s supported OSC IK system.
Prepare Your VR Headset
- Set up SteamVR with your headset.
- Perform the standard room calibration.
- Confirm your headset and controllers are working properly.
Set Up Your Perception Neuron Studio Kit
- Wear the body straps correctly.
→ Tip: Use only the straps needed for the 10 sensors listed above; make sure they stay secure during capture. - Perform Magnetic Calibration and Steady Calibration for the sensors.
- Connect your sensors to Axis Studio.
- Perform Posture Calibration.
- Select your Body Size Profile.
Enable OSC in Axis Studio
- In Axis Studio, go to:
Main Menu > Settings > OSC Broadcasting - Enable OSC-Capture to start streaming real-time mocap data.
Set Up VRChat
- Put on your HMD and Run VRChat.
- Select your avatar.
- We recommend navigating to mirror located in home world.
- Enable OSC by going into the ACTION MENU
- From the LAUNCH PAD choose CALIBRATE FBT
- Stay in T-POSE posture
- Click on both triggers to complete the calibration
- Both your mocap data and Character data should now work together
