The following article will help you setup real-time data stream from Axis Studio to Replikant. Users can stream data playback data or real-time motion data.
Axis Studio Setup
If you are streaming live data, make sure your actor is connected and has performed the POSTURE CALIBRATION. If you are using recorded data, have a take open and playing on loop in the Editing window.
To stream data, go to Main Menu --> Settings --> BVH Broadcasting
Navigate to the BVH Broadcasting section in the Settings Menu and load the following options:
-Enable BVH -Capture for Live Data or enable BVH Edit for recorded data
-Skeleton: Axis Studio Thumb Open
-Displacement: Disabled
-Protocol: TCP
IP address and port number must match the settings in Replikant.
Replikant Setup
Open Replikant and towards the top menu options, navigate to Windows --> preferences --> services. Locate the Perception Neuron settings and confirm IP/Port settings reflect the same data found in Axis Studio broadcast settings.
Once data settings are setup, change the workspace to Mocap. Under the Mocap Panel expand the character settings and enable Body Options. Choose Perception Neuron under the source options. Select the Axis Studio Character Name under the Source Name, this will be the name of the avatar found in Axis Studio.
Note: The Character Name is located in Axis Studio under the Sensor Map panel.
