PRE-SETUP
We'll first want to setup Axis Studio communication with our new NEURONOSC application.
1 Install Neuron OSC
Once installed, you'll see the following window.:
2 Run Axis Studio and run any pre-recorded data to test with.
4 Stream BVH-EDIT data to NEURONOSC
Stream Data: Enable BVH-EDIT data
Skeleton: Axis Studio
Displacement: Enabled
Protocol: TCP
Local Address: 127.0.01:7003
In the application, make sure to setup the IP address to 127.0.0.1 and click RUN
Final Output
Run a prerecorded data to ensure you have data streaming to the NEURONOSC app, see below image
NOTICE:
For real-time data streaming we will ONLY use 10 sensors. They are:
- Spine 1
- Hip
- L/R Up Arm
- L/R Forearm
- L/R Upper Leg
- L/R Leg
Setup
1. Setup SteamVR with your headset.
- Perform the standard room calibration for your HMD
- Make sure that you are able to see through the HMD and controller's work.
2. Setup Perception Neuron Studio kit
- Place Body straps on, correctly. Ensure that straps do not get displaced during live capture. Keep in mind we are using the specific working mode, so you will not need to install all straps. See the notice above for reference on sensors we'll be using.
- Calibrate Perception Neuron Sensors. Performing the Magnetic Calibration and then Steady Calibration
- Connect Sensors to Axis Studio
- Perform posture calibration.
- Select Body Size profile.
3. Setup BVH data output
- In Axis Studio, go to Main Menu>Settings> BVH Broadcasting
- Enable BVH CAPTURE. to stream real-time data from your mocap suit

- Choose Skeleton: Axis Studio
- Displacement: Enabled
- Protocol: TCP
- Local Address: 127.0.0.1:7003

4. Run NeuronOSC
- Open the NeuronOSC application.
- Click RUN
- You should now see your suit data streaming to the NEURONosc app
5. Place HMD and run VR CHAT
- Run VR CHAT
- Select your character of choice.
3. Calibrate mocap data to Character
- We recommend navigating to mirror located in home world.
- Enable OSC by going into the ACTION MENU
- From the LAUNCH PAD choose CALIBRATE FBT
- Stay in T-POSE posture
- Click on both triggers to complete the calibration
- Both your mocap data and Character data should now work together.
