How does Perception Neuron 32 handle foot sliding?
In order to track position in relative space, Perception Neuron needs an origin point of contact and a follow through.
Sliding does not register as a foot contact when you analyze the movement. Perception Neuron captures position in relative space based on foot contact.
In order not to get too technical, our IMU sensors uses a predictive algorithm to anticipate a foot contact based on the impact of the foot and the location of the ground. When you have a performer slide their feet, Perception Neuron will not understand position in world space because there is no anticipation of contact.
How many characters does Axis Neuron Support?
Axis Neuron can support up to 5 characters at one time
Is it possible to work with multiple tools/props
Sorry, we only support one prop at this time. The prop is modeled as an extension from the hand. This means the prop is part of the human body model and cannot be detached from the hand.
What is the maximum range/distance of tracking?
Perception Neuron 32 connects to a WIFI 2.4g supported device. The range relies on the coverage of the WIFI hardware. Typically, you can expect to have about 6–10-meter coverage in an open space.
Can I wear clothing over my sensors?
Yes. Perception Neuron 32 sensors are using inertial instruments to track body movement which do not involve any cameras.
Can Axis Neuron Track multiple performers?
With Perception Neuron 32, Axis Neuron supports up to 5 performers at a time.
Please see the following video on how to setup more than 1 performer, Perception Neuron | Multi-Suit Captures - YouTube
How many total sockets for full body and finger tracking?
There are 31 mounting points for the body and hands:
- 7 for lower body, hip, upper legs, lower legs, feet.
- 10 for upper body, chest, head, shoulders, upper arms, forearms, hands.
- 2 each for thumb and index fingers,
- 1 each for other fingers.
Approximately what is the setup time for suiting up for motion capture on Perception Neuron 32?
Depending on your configuration (full-body, one arm, upper-body, etc.) it can take anywhere from up to five minutes.
Does the Perception Neuron 32 kit include a portable battery pack?
Due to safety concerns and limitations of shipping worldwide, we do not include a portable battery pack with your kit. Users will need to purchase a portable battery pack on their own. Please use a 5v/2A battery.
Recommended
- 1, 2.5A, etc.
- 5V
Will the Body strap found in the Perception Neuron 32 kit fit my body size if I’m very tall/small?
We recommend the body suit to be work by the smallest of size person of 4 foot 9 inches. The tallest fully supported is 6-Foot-tall person.
What WIFI hardware do I need for wireless PN32 support?
Perception Neuron includes a Hub, this hub receives all the data from connected Perception Neuron Sensors. The Hub also can transmit motion data to Axis Neuron via 2.4G wifi connection.
No WIFI router is included with Perception Neuron kits, users will need to purchase one to use the suit in WIFI configuration.
The Hub requires the WIFI router to have 2.4G support, please keep in mind that 5G is not support.
Hardware Example:
TL-WR841N V14 - Link
ASUS Wireless-N300 - Link
In offline setup, can I perform the POSTURE CALIBRATION?
Yes, this procedure will be possible. Seemply hold the RED button for about 5 seconds to initiate the process. Please keep in mind that after the calibration process, the HUB will begin recording right away.
Will I'll be able to capture prop like a CAMERA?
Yes, you can use a single Neuron for camera orientation measurement, or for any prop which is considered as an extension of the hand. But if you are trying to make a 'virtual camera' by using a single IMU separated to your body, you'll only get orientation without position data.
